Our new galley kitchen will be beautiful, despite some budget compromises. Â Our cabinets are being custom made by a local carpenter. Â Initially we designed the kitchen with face frame cabinets and inset doors with exposed hinges, but this was way out of our budget reality, so we opted for more typical “frameless” cabinets. Â They will be a simple Shaker style and painted in Benjamin Moore Atrium White.
The tongue and groove wood ceiling has already been installed and is also painted Atrium White. Â The backsplash is still up for grabs and will probably be some kind of DIY wood configuration (Ann Sacks tile is just not in the budget!). Â Besides, we have a farm house vibe going with our shaker cabinets, apron front sink, a cleft slate countertop and the same dark stained, wide plank floor that will flow throughout the apartment.
I’m in love with these satin nickel pulls from Restoration Hardware, though I’m still bargain hunting on that front…
