Project: DIY pot rack
Scott added this stainless steel rod last weekend to our custom kitchen shelving. Â The open shelving with a long pot rack was one of the cornerstones of our kitchen design. Â It’s definitely convenient to have pots and pans within easy reach of the stove and not taking up precious cabinet space. Â The rod was thirty [...]

shaker doors & tung oiled floors
In many ways, our renovated apartment doesn’t look hugely different from the dumpy place we bought. Â Except, um, it’s not dumpy anymore. Â The layout didn’t change much on the parlor floor. Project: custom drawer dividers
Scott is busy in his art studio today building custom dividers for our new kitchen drawers. Â He’s using three inch poplar pieces, wire brads (tiny nails) and a dab of wood glue. Â This is definitely a “measure twice, cut once” kind of project.
It remains to be seen whether we will paint the dividers. Â Â Right [...]

project: heirloom bedspread
I love my family heirlooms. I literally cherish every dented baby cup, every threadbare quilt. But alas, these are in limited supply. Well I’ve just discovered a delightful pleasure- the New Heirloom.
It started with a trip to Tulum in Mexico, where Scott and I became engaged. We couldn’t resist buying, at a local artisan shop, [...]
